On that same day, two great former leaders died at exactly the same time. At the age of 87, former Chancellor of the United Lands of Wakaskató, Barack Hussein Obama, II and, at the age of 69, former Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota Peggy Flanagan aka Gizhiiwewidamookwe, die. Both of them lived long enough to be carried up to the surface, where they died feeling the warmth of natural sunlight on their faces again. Unbeknownst to their families, the spirits of these two would live on.

In fact, the spirits of these two great leaders merged with the growing spirit of the nation and became the superhero known as Pahana, the Spirit of Wakaskató. They immediately searched out and gathered others who embodied the will of the people and the spirit of the land, and together they formed the The Oathbound!
