Personality Traits

In his psychological profile, the prison psychiatrist said that Vil'yam Louton has strong self-destructive urges. The prison psychiatrist believed that he was looking for a way to die, and he hoped the jobs he took on would provide one. Despite this, the prison psychiatrist said there is another side of him that wants to be well and does not know how. Captain Boomerang asks why he chooses to live in a prison cell, and Cross/Shot replies that "a bed's a bed." He has described himself as similar to Rick Flag, and states that they are both "lone wolves" who "don't fit in the pack." The prison psychiatrist asks him about his sexual relationships, and he says that he exclusively visits prostitutes. He prefers sex to be simple like a business transaction, and hates figuring out what women want in relationships.

Vil'yam Louton had told the prison psychiatrist that life means nothing to him. His brother was the only person he ever cared about. He claimed to have felt nothing, no guilt or remorse, when he killed his brother. He said the only life anybody really cares about is their own, and he does not even care about that. In his own words, he is "killing time, waiting to die." He tells the prison psychiatrist that evil is real, and the only way to cure some people is with a bullet to the head. When his son was killed and he murdered the people responsible, he described this as a necessary action to protect his reputation. This was accompanied by an emotional outburst. The prison psychiatrist accused him of being unable to admit his feelings because he could not deal with his own anger and grief.

Demolitions

Fighting: ShichidanpIn'a'

_____Weaponry

Interrogation

Intimidation

Marksmanship: Cross/Shot is a master marksman, said to 'never miss.' He is skilled with a wide variety of firearms, including his wrist mounted guns, handguns, sniper rifles, high caliber assault rifles, and rocket launchers. Cross/Shot once shot an apple off of Captain Return's head with his eyes closed. He was also able to intentionally graze the skull of a flying Mirage, when asked to take her down non-lethally. Cross/Shot was even able to match Jagged Arrow in a shootout against each other.

_____Throwing: Cross/Shot can throw objects with deadly precision. When playing a game of darts with Jagged Arrow, both he and Cross/Shot hit the bullseye on every throw.

Multilingualism: Vil'yam Louton is bilingual. He learned to speak English as a youth.

Peak Human Condition: Cross/Shot's senses and eyesight are at the peak of human potential, far exceeding that of a normal human being. He mentioned off-hand that he could keep track of each beat of a hummingbird's wings and could easily keep track of the movements of Silverstreak who was moving in short bursts of super-speed.

Science: Although no scientific genius, he possesses sufficient technical ability to develop and modify reasonably sophisticated computer technology without aid.

Sonics: He has specialized an ultrasonic pitch for the human ear to perceive.

Tactical Analysis: Sentinel has stated that he considers Cross/Shot to be a 'master planner' but does not consider him much of a physical threat.

Weaknesses

Intolerance: Cross/Shot is lactose intolerant.

Technology-Dependent: Without the removable cybernetic orthopaedics, Vil'yam Louton cannot see from the left side, and almost cannot hear. As a result, he can be easily surprised with an attack coming from the side.

Equipment

Cybernetic Eye: Cross/Shot's left eye has been replaced by an infrared imaging device which affords him a semblance of sight even in total darkness.

Cybernetic Ear: Cross/Shot's left ear has been replaced by an audio sensor that is far more sensitive than the human ear. The explosion that damaged his left eye and ear also caused an 85% hearing loss in his other ear. Consequently, Cross/Shot is immune to the effects of his own ultrasonic machinery as long as he adjusts his artificial ear to be unaffected by it.

Cross/Shot's Uniform: The uniform is composed of a special bulletproof, flame-retardant fabric, and has special hidden compartments containing various weaponry and devices, including a compressed oxygen tank, various miniature surveillance devices, and small single-shot weaponry.

Weapons

Wrist-mounted Guns: Cross/Shot has a wrist-mounted gun on each arm. They fire magnum bullets when he presses a trigger button on his palm. They also contain a grappling hook that allows him to swing across buildings.

Mind Control Equipment: Cross/Shot has developed ultrasound-based mind-control devices. The sounds will fill hearers with intense hatred and violence; unprotected victims will attack anyone in range until the device is shut off. The range of the device is minimal, because it is only a prototype.

Short-range Single-shot Guns: These are hidden in the pouches of his uniform.

Voice: If Amalgamated Chronicles were to become a cartoon, the voice of Cross/Shot should be Wladimir Klitschko.
